The talented, motivational and versatile lyricist known as Mos Def is back at it again, he is ready to release his 5th album entitled The Ecstatic on June 9,2009. The ever evolving emcee is back with arguably his best work to date, head over to his MySpace and check out a few of the upped tracks from the new album. Just based on what is available to listen to, the rest of the record should be most definitely be a masterpeice.

Mos Def has announced the release of his highly-anticipated new album, The Ecstatic (Downtown Records) on June 9th.
Several new tracks from The Ecstatic, including “Life In Marvelous Times” and ”Quiet Dog Bite Hard” can be heard now via Mos Def’s My Space page. These debut tracks are also available now via download on RCRD LBL and on iTunes.
The album’s release coincides with the 10 year anniversary of his seminal debut album, Black on Both Sides. Mos will be announcing more details on The Ecstatic and upcoming US tour in the coming weeks.
